In an effort to increase the quality of services delivered to students receiving related services and develop leadership skills within the Lincoln-Way Area Cooperative, the Cooperative has established a Lead Mentor Team for the 2009-2010 school year. A Lead Mentor has been designated for speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological services, and social work services personnel.

The Lead Mentors will serve as a resource to the Cooperative's and the Districts' related service staff personnel by serving as a technical, instructional, and student evaluative resource and consultant.

The Lead Mentors will research new therapeutic approaches and will work with the Cooperative's administrative staff to provide ongoing professional development to cooperative and district level staff.

The Lead Mentors will provide consultation with related service staff regarding: student evaluations, assessment instruments, therapeutic techniques/interventions, professional outreach, exploring and sharing information about current research and best practices, guidance in goal development and implementation strategies, and general parameters of school-based service delivery.
