Mission Statement:
To prepare students for future success through high quality, comprehensive, and individually appropriate educational experiences, in collaboration with the family. Focus is on the total development of students, three to twenty-two, including: communication, cognition, physical development, social-emotional skills, academics, daily living skills, and independence.

Goals:
To create an environment in which students feel comfortable.
To foster a positive atmosphere in the classroom which encourages independence of thought, problem solving, and successful group interaction.
To help students voice their own ideas, thoughts and feelings.
To teach students how to learn throughout their entire lives.


Programs At Pioneer Grove Educational Center

Blended Preschool:
Each blended classroom consists of up to 15 children; 5 students with mild special needs, and 10 tuition paying typically developing peers.  Classes are staffed by one teacher with a four year degree in regular and special education.  There is also one teacher assistant in each room.  A speech/language pathologist, and a social worker provide services to the students each week.

The Phonological Class:
Intensive speech therapy for preschoolers with severe articulation disorders.

Early Childhood and Primary Multi-Needs Classes:
Extended day programs for children who require specialized services due to their physical and/or medical issues.

High School Multi-Needs Class:
Serves students with significant cognitive, communication, and medical or physical needs. The focus of the class includes vocational, daily living skills, community, and recreation/leasure.

AIM(Adapted Individualized Methods)Classes:
Full day programs for children who require specialized teaching methods and techniques such as ABA, PECS, and sensory diets.
