Our Purpose

To promote parent education, promote program evaluation and development, provide mutual support and communication among parents and staff, and to advocate on behalf of our children and their special needs.

Membership

PLASE is an organization of parents of special education students, special education teachers, and staff members in the Lincoln-Way area, as well as other interested people from the community who share our interest and purpose.

Meetings

General meetings are scheduled during the school year in order to inform, enlighten, or educate. The general meetings are held at the Transition House at 310 Colorado Avenue in Frankfort, IL.

  • November 13, 2012 at 4:30PM: Family Supports Open Forum Part 1
  • February 12, 2013 at 4:00PM: Family Supports Open Forum Part 2
  • March 12, 2013 at 6:30PM: Executive Functioning Part 1
  • April 9, 2013 at 6:30 PM: Executive Functioning Part 2

Advisory Planning Committee meetings are open to any Lincoln-Way parent who would like to become an active partner in our brainstorming sessions to address current special education mandates, trends, issues, and concerns that involve our special needs children. The meetings are also held at the Transition House at 310 Colorado Avenue in Frankfort, IL at 6:00 P.M. Advisory Committee meetings are scheduled on:

  • August 14, 2012
  • September 11, 2012
  • November 13, 2012(Before General Meeting if Needed)
  • May 14, 2013
