Preschool Screening
District 843 will be screening children from ages three to five in the areas of motor, cognitive, and speech / language development. All preschoolers who reside in the following districts are eligible to be screened free of charge:
The screening is designed to identify preschoolers who show delays or problems in speech and language skills, large and small muscle coordination skills, or social and emotional growth. The District 843 staff will determine the necessity, if any, for further individualized testing for consideration of special education services.
Children under the age of 3 who experience a delay will be referred to Child and Family Connections in Joliet.
